Mel, Emma and Geri are getting back together, minus Victoria Beckham and Mel C, to mark the band’s 20th anniversary.

Last week the Sunday Mirror revealed Cowell’s team are keeping a close eye on Let It Shine and may consider legal action if it is too similar to X Factor .

The Spice Girls CONFIRM their reunion as a trio for 21st anniversary of Wannabe and rename the band
Let It Shine is due on BBC One early next year to fill the gap left by The Voice, which has moved to ITV.
It is 20 years since the Spice Girls ’ first hit, Wannabe, came out.

Emma, mum to Beau, eight, and Tate, five, and engaged to Damage singer Jade Jones, 37, recalls filming the video for their first number one hit.

Three of the Spice Girls have recorded new music together as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.
Songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: We have been in the studio, with just three of them – Mel B and Geri and Emma – and we had a fantastic couple of days.
We wrote a brilliant song and the energy was exactly like it was 20 years ago, just as enthusiastic, just as much to say, just as much to celebrate.
When asked if the group were in a place to have a reunion, he replied
I think it’s a great time, it’s 20 years, that’s a serious amount of time and they’ve had such a massive influence on women around the world.
“America’s likely to have a woman president, we’re going to have another woman prime minister – women rock!
“Let’s be honest … I think they have something to do with that, the way female artists are perceived in the pop charts nowadays, I think they’ve had a massive effect on pop music and pop culture, so it’s a good time to celebrate.”
In a video posted online by the three women, Brown said: “We’ve been thinking, we have the best fans in the whole entire world … and we want to celebrate and have a party and when we do you’re all invited.”
Echoing the lyrics of Wannabe, a message written on screen at the end reads: “We hope to tell you soon what you want, what you really, really want.”

The three singers have reportedly agreed to a London show in July 2017, but Victoria Beckham has previously ruled herself out of a reunion, while Melanie Chisholm has said she is focusing on her solo album.
Wannabe was the band’s breakthrough hit, spending seven weeks at the top of the UK charts and earning them a Brit award for best single.

where did you first hear the song

We were all in Geri’s car driving through Finchley, which is where I was brought up, and it came on the radio. We all started screaming our heads off. The first poster I saw for the single was in Finchley too. I remember thinking, “My friends from the pub might see this!”
