Moto e3 Power has been launched in India as Flipkart exclusive at Rs 7,999. Moto G4 Play is priced slightly higher at Rs 8,999 and is available on Amazon. The Lenovo Moto devices are up against each other in the affordable segment. Both Moto e3 Power and Moto G4 Play follow the design language of Moto G4 series. The smartphone support 4G+VoLTE making them eligible for a Reliance Jio 4G SIM card.
Moto e3 Power and Moto G4 Play offer a pure Android experience at budget prices. The smartphones run Android Marshmallow out of the box. Moto e3 Power has a 3,500 mAh battery, and while the G4 Play has 2800 mAh battery. The e3 Power and G4 Play come with water-repellent coating. Neither Moto G4 Play nor Moto e3 Power features a fingerprint sensor. Here’s how they stack up against each other in terms of specifications:
- Moto e3 Power Storage –
Moto e3 Power series has a design similar to the one seen on Moto G4 and G4 Plus. The Moto e3 Power has a 5-inch display (1280 x 720 pixels) and Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The device is backed by a 1.0GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable storage up to 32GB via dedicated SD card slot).Moto e3 Power has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. The rear supports geo-tagging, panorama and HDR. We weren’t quite happy with e3 Power’s rear camera in our first impressions. With Moto e3 Power, we get a very basic camera that delivers in broad daylight and while the software doesn’t oversaturate colours like Samsung or Lenovo phones, it also ends being muted at times.
Moto e3 Power gets a 3,500 mAh battery. In our first impressions, we got two full days of normal use on this battery. We said the low duty processor, low resolution display mean that there is not much battery drained by the device. Moto e3 Power runs stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device comes with water-repellent coating.
- Moto G4 Play Storage Detail :
Moto G4 Play is quite similar to Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in terms of design. The smartphone has a removable plastic back and silver metal frames running along the edges. Moto G4 Play gets a 5-inch full HD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with Adreno 306 GPU for graphics performance. There’s 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable to 128GB via microSD).
Moto G4 Play packs an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The front camera supports Display Flash. Moto G4 Play runs the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and has a 2,800 mAh battery. This one has a water repellent nano-coating. It supports 4G, Bluetooth v4.1 LE and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz).
For users, choosing between the Moto e3 Power and Moto G4 Play boils down to two things: One the extra battery on the cheaper Moto e3 Power, which is always a better choice, and the other is the difference between the two processors: The E3 is the first Moto phone in India running a MediaTek processor, while the G4 Play sticks with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410.
