India Rio Olympic 2016 Saina Nehwal Match Schedule
Rio 2016 India players will once again take field on day six of the Rio 2016 Olympics with their hunt for the first medal at these Games continue. Badminton’s first matches will be played on Thursday and all Indian player will be in action for badminton. The biggest attraction will be Saina Nehwal who will be in action. Also, India’s other women’s singles player PV Sindhu will be action.In hockey, both teams of India men’s and women’s will take field. The men’s team will be up against mighty Netherlands will women’s team will play USA. In boxing, Shiva Thapa will play his first match.
Golf will also begin on today with three Indians competing in it.
Badminton (Women) Doubles : Singles
It starts with the doubles pairing of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa in action. Then it’s over to those two, Saina and Sindhu.
Badminton (Men) Doubles : Singles
Srikanth Kidambi will be India’s big hope in the singles. It’s the doubles pairing of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy who kick off proceedings.
Field Hockey (Women) India vs USA :
Currently in a quarterfinal spot, Indian women play joint group leaders USA
Field Hockey (men) India vs Netherlands :
After beating Argentina, the Indian men are guaranteed a quarterfinal spot. A win against the mighty Dutch will take them to the second position.
Boxing Bantamweight (56 kg) :
Shiva Thapa will be in action when he takes on Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana of Cuba.
Tennis Mixed Doubles :
Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna’s first round in mixed doubles was washed out. Now they’re fourth on court 3 today.
Golf (Men) Individual Event :
Golf returns to the Olympics after a 112-year hiatus. And both Anirban Lahiri and SSP Chawrasia will fancy their chances in the depleted field.
Men’s Volleyball :
Brazil vs USA : Brazil’s volleyball team has reached the gold medal match of the last three consecutive Games, but lost out in Beijing and London. They’ve been in good form at the moment, and at their home Olympics, they’ll be looking to change their fortunes.
Women’s Water Polo :
USA vs China : With a medal in each edition of the Games since the women’s event was introduced at Sydney 2000, defending champions USA has been the most dominant team at the Olympics. That form has so far continued at Rio 2016.
Men’s Individual : After the top four male golfers in the world decided to back out of the Olympics, fifth ranked Bubba Watson will be the man to watch.
Women’s 200 m backstroke heats (23:06 hrs onwards): Missy Franklin was the golden girl of swimming at London, winning five golds at just 17. Rio hasn’t started so well, with a 13th place finish in her first event. Time for the queen of the pool to fix it.
